Anger infiltrates many if not all lives and attempts to paralyze its victims with its intensifying grip. Often times anger sparks with an unmet desire or a loss of a desire. As this spark morphs into a small flame within the heart of its victim, anger begins to take control of the thoughts, intents, and actions of its victim. Moving along this road of anger, the victim motivated by anger seeks revenge. There comes a time when anger shackles it vitims in its chains and throws away the key. Grappled in these chains, the victim cannot escape on his or her own inicative or power. Achilles found deep within the Iliad finds himself under the chains of anger. Even though Achilles fights viciously in the Battle of Troy, he surrenders to anger when Agamemnon sought to seize his girl, Briseis. When Achilles muses over his anger by the sea, anger shackles him in his constraining chains and tosses the key into the depths of the sea. This anger escalates until it reaches the peaks of the mountain s where the gods reside. Just as forgiveness leads to life anger leads to Achilles ultimate death. Sparked by an unjust loss of honor, the anger of Achilles fumes until it explodes into unbridled revenge. The spark of anger begins for Achilles when he unjustly looses his honor. At the beginning of the Iliad, the rage of anger opens the scene. Agamemnon and Achillies throw sparks of anger at one another until Achilles harbors a spark of anger within his heart.
